Kinja'd!!!

New car has been developed with the eyes on China, rather than on the United States.

So yeah, if is going to be dull, you know the reason.

So you're telling me this won't be at all like my late lamented '97 SHO?

Buick is the big thing in China, or at least it was, and that tells you something about the market. To me, it's still an old man brand, as is Cadillac. My great uncle had lots of LeSabres, and they all smelled like pipe tobacco.

So, this is going to be a China special? Or designed by Chinese, made for Chinese type thing?

If so, Ford literally just refreshed the Taurus in 2013 for the new Police interceptors and the Civi model. Why do they need to refresh it again? That's another upside of the Crown Vic, how it stayed relatively the same for a long time instead of being outdated every other second.

Well, let's just say that Chinese input in the car, is just as present as the North American input.

Is it even going to be sold in North America? I think the earlier suggestions were that the Taurus was not going to be just China optimized, but China only. It would make some sense for them to keep a toe in the market here though, the full size segment is declining, but the Taurus did still sell almost 63,000 cars last year and 63,000 sales is 63,000 sales.

I wouldn't count out a new SHO being on the horizon though

Maybe a long wheel base. China loves rear leg room, hell there is a 3 series long wheel base over there.

Jeez, them and their seemingly pointless need for extra rear legroom. If they want something that has more rear legroom, tell them to go buy the larger version of that same car.

EG: 7-Series instead of 3-Series.

From what I heard they have to buy a car due to social status. Can't buy a 7 series if your boss drives a 5 or something like that.
